Dog Training

With a disobedient, unruly, wilful, mischievous, destructive and/or vexed dog, getting to the root cause of the misbehaviour and correcting it leaves many owners at a loss. It becomes an insurmountable problem that is endured and is left to persist, leading to discord. In the clear majority of cases, the behaviour is because the dog does not feel comfortable, and is taking to the offence to keep the big, scary thing at bay.

Whether your dog presents common or not so common behavioural issues, please do not worry, I can, and will, guide you through training and behaviour modification. Dogs operate on a social structure, a hierarchy. You need to gain trust in a non-confrontational way and simply establish quiet dominance, to which your dog will respond and present more positive behaviours. Dogs are incredibly intelligent, your dog’s natural predisposition is to look to you for protection and direction, an instinctual role, just like human parenting. You need to assert clear boundaries, rules, limitations and condition good behaviours. ‘Firm, friendly and fair’ is my mantra.

Your key to success is: to be open to learning new methods; to be prepared to practice; to be persistent and constant; and to take action. So, book your training session today and nip bad behaviour in the bud.

A well-behaved dog at home and in public is a joy to be around. Once you have the knowledge and skills to better understand and communicate with your dog, the stress and trepidation of keeping him or her under control fades away, and that familiar embarrassment! A thing of the past.

After 20 plus years’ experience as a police dog handler, I am now involved in cutting-edge canine behaviours and wellbeing research. Over the years I have analysed, adapted and tweaked my training methods, to such that are easy to learn and those that achieve excellent results.

Every 1-2-1 training session is tailored around the individual needs of you and your dog.

1-2-1 training sessions offer the more positive results; general group training classes are usually too generic – ‘one size does not necessarily fit all’. In such circumstance, it is no wonder that motivation fizzles out both for you as handler, and for the dog, and that training is slow and frustrating. With 1-2-1 attention, working in collaboration, we can make adjustments to the means and methods of training that can dramatically improve your dog’s attitude and obedience.

Just send a few basic details via my enquiry form and I will come right back to you with a plan you can have confidence in.
