Dog Training
Your relationship with your dog is founded on trust. As you begin your journey together, that bond will develop but it’s a road than can be littered with peaks and troughs and the most important thing, is to apply a method of training that is best suited to you both.
The Dog Man’s training provides just that. I offer one-to-one bespoke sessions that link your dog’s temperament and behaviour with your experience and practice to develop an understanding between you and your dog.
This begins with a visit to your home to see how your dog acts in their normal surroundings and how they interact with you and your family. It also allows you to flag up any emerging behavioural issues around which I can build a programme to meet your needs.
As the sessions progress, we train outside in ‘real world’ environments: in the park, by roads, near to other people and other animals.
We can undertake training at various stages of your dog’s development: from early in their lives when you and your pup are learning to live with each other, or with an older dog – an adoption or rescue who may ‘carry’ some problems or who developed behavioural issues due to a sudden change – house move, new pet or new member of the family.
Every dog is different and so is an owner’s experience and understanding. There’s so much information out there so it’s understandable that you may be confused by what seems to be contradictory advice.
In contrast, I will give you a tailor-made programme that will give you clear focus and help you achieve results using positive methods that will reinforce good behaviour.
With repetition and determination you and your dog will soon be working as one, underpinning a relationship that will last a lifetime.
