Helping dogs and their humans take the next step
A Full Week of Real-World Training
It’s been another full-on week at THE DOG MAN®, working across Staffordshire and the wider West Midlands with everything from excitable puppies to complex multi-dog households.
From giant-breed youngsters learning calm focus to reactive bitches in compact homes, every session this week reminded us why true behavioural work is never one-size-fits-all. We began and ended the week with Freedom Fill sessions with our own dogs — then delivered a run of private training and behaviour programmes across Stafford, Cannock, and Pelsall.
Our second February booking is already secured, and we’re now reviewing availability into early 2026. Demand remains high because our approach is deliberately low-volume, high-involvement — every case gets the depth it deserves.

From Puppies to Problem-Solving
The variety this week has been huge:
- Dottie – Wire-Haired Fox Terrier: Building recall reliability and impulse control around dogs and distractions.
- Bear – Bernese Mountain Dog: Working on impulse control, mobility-support targeting, and calmer leash behaviour for a giant-breed puppy.
- Fergus – Airdale: Redirecting guarding and territorial energy through structured exposure in neutral industrial areas.
- Ted – Shih Tzu × Bichon Frise: Rebuilding trust and engagement outdoors while addressing resource guarding and noise sensitivity.
- Nala – Dog De Bordeaux: Ongoing behaviour-modification work centred on calm exits, controlled energy, and everyday confidence.
- Bonnie – Australian Doodle: Consolidating previous training using video-supported follow-up and shaping relaxed responsiveness at home.

Why We Work With Fewer Clients
Although our programmes are described as “four hours of training”, that’s just the surface. Every dog receives hours of unseen work — research, assessment, written reports, filming and editing tutorials, and same-day feedback through the Client Zone.
That’s why we limit how many clients we take on at once. It ensures genuine one-to-one attention, accurate analysis, and continued progression — not a tick-box service.
⸻
The Wider Picture
Dog training is evolving fast. UK owners are demanding structured, evidence-based, and emotionally intelligent support.
At THE DOG MAN®, we blend operational precision with behavioural science — always starting with a Functional Behavioural Assessment, followed by structured coaching and video-based reinforcement.
Recent data Pet Industry Statistics shows steady year-on-year growth in professional dog-training services, driven by owners investing in proper behavioural help rather than short-term obedience fixes.
⸻
What We See Every Week
- Multi-dog homes struggling with competition or conflict between bitches.
- Reactive dogs in tight living spaces where stress builds quickly.
- Puppies that have skipped early structure and are now pushing boundaries.
- Owners balancing family life, work, and canine management — all needing clarity and confidence.
- Each case is unique, but the principle is constant: clarity, structure, and calm leadership.

Looking Ahead
We’re now booking into February 2026, with spaces extremely limited. The diary fills quickly because we dedicate serious time to every dog and owner — far beyond the session itself.
If you’re ready to turn frustration into progress, now’s the time to reach out.
