Professional Dog Training and Behaviour Modification with Craig The Dog Man®

Currently, on the Internet and TV, there are a lot of contradictory viewpoints about dog training and behaviour modification. This is right, this is wrong, reward this, don’t reward this but this needs to be corrected, the simple fact is there is no one way to train a dog.

Many different dogs learn in many different ways. In addition, there are many different methods to create the same behaviour as there are dogs, so let’s put reasoning to it all.

In conformity with fact, reason, truth, or some standard or principle, the right answer is to ask the dog. As the dog knows what it enjoys and it’ll also knows what it doesn’t want, this fact is what we need to be mindful of.

Simply assuming that something is reinforcing or aversive isn’t suitable at all. But, again, it is the dog’s decision. The dog decides what it wants; we don’t do that on its behalf.

What is the best dog training tip is to find out what motivates it, whether it’s food, toys, affection or simply freedom; all these things can be used to strengthen and reinforce your dog’s behaviour.

Since January this year, Craig has trained or retrained the 36 different breeds or crossbreeds below:

As you can see from the list, The Dog Man® trains and retrains an enormous variety of dogs; each of them like something different and dislikes something different, and that’s entirely up to them; what’s crucial is we need to read them, understand them, help them and guide them in the right direction.

Like us, dogs all have individual characters and ways of learning, so we need to make sure we’re thinking and talking dogs and not dog trainers.
